Jared M. Smith, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Financial and Operations Principal

Jared Smith is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive business, leadership and managerial experience. His background spans the financial, accounting, consulting, healthcare and the life settlement industries.

As CFO & FinOps Principal for WLS, Jared is responsible for the oversight of all financial matters as well as project management, research, strategic planning and development, marketing, human resources and information systems.

In 2006, Jared joined Welcome Funds and Welcome Life Securities where he currently serves as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Jared served as the Director of Planning and Strategic Development for Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he was responsible for leading the medical center's overall program and growth initiatives. Most notably, he led a $65 million turnaround plan. From 1995 to 2002, Jared served in a number of varied roles at Deloitte & Touche, including Manager, Enterprise Risk Services and Senior Accountant in Deloitte's Audit and Advisory Practice.

Jared is a Registered Financial and Operations Principal holding the Series 6 Investment Company/Variable Contracts Representative and Series 28 Introducing Broker/Dealer Financial and Operations Principal licenses.

Jared earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1994 and his Master's of Science in Taxation degree in 1995 from the University of Miami.
